Could Bloomberg Capture The Mainstream Majority?

The billionaire Mayor of New York is still a threat to any Presidential candidate especially in 2008.

10:35 pm - Bi-partyism? WTF?!
Bi-partyism? WTF?!
Here's a random thought for yah... Why hasn't our country yet adapted to the idea of having more than one opposing party? (like many other democratic societies have already)
If you feel as though your vote is being wasted because either party is equally full of shit and/or corrupt, please watch this 7 minute video presentation I've prepared for you all...
(I've also embedded this into my LJ)

If you like this this piece, please be so kind as to pass it on to a friend. Thanks! ^_~
Best Regards,

O'Connor resigned.

I'd link, but you can get the info anywhere now.

We are fucked. Or at least, that's my knee-jerk reaction.

01:14 pm - Voting Equation???
In my Intro to American Politics class, there may be a question on the next test (it's Tuesday) about somehing called the "voting equation". My professor showed this in class, but he's currently in the hospital after quadruple bypass surgery, and our TA doesn't know it either.

Is anyone even vaguely familar with this or know where we can find it? Your help is appreciated.

(I remember it involved adding something if you were in favor of abortion and doing something involving foreign policy. It was to determine whether or not you were voting for Clinton or Dole, I think.)

11:26 am - Save the Arctic Refuges from Oil Drilling...
"We are hours away from the vote to save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the heat is on thanks to your efforts over the last 24 hours. A vote is expected around 1:00 PM EST and floor debate begins at 10:15 AM EST. Tune in and watch live on C-SPAN2.

In the last 24 hours we have seen an amazing display of our johnkerry.com community's ability to quickly mobilize - and a passionate outpouring of commitment to the Arctic Refuge. And you got the attention of the Republicans too. In fact late last night Republican leaders came to the floor of the Senate to complain directly about our Citizens' Roll Call to stop this special interest giveaway.

So far, a quarter of a million citizens - more than 260,000 people, have signed our Citizens' Roll Call in support of the Cantwell-Kerry Amendment to prevent the oil drills from invading one of our greatest natural treasures. With the roll call vote in the Senate fast approaching TODAY, we must keep the pressure on - and our Citizens' Roll Call growing.

Sign the Citizens' Roll Call today:

With support from grassroots activists across the nation, we are running an online advertising campaign in six critical states that are home to the Republican senators who now hold the future of the Arctic Refuge in their hands.

If you haven't acted yet, please take ONE minute now to sign the roll call and, if you've already signed, use that minute to forward this message to friends and colleagues.
The vote that could decide the future of the Arctic Refuge is going down to the wire. Let's keep working until we win. Your actions today are making a critical difference.

John Kerry"

06:31 pm - Count Every Vote
I believe that Americans deserve to know that their votes will count - and will be counted. That's why I am signing up as a citizen co-sponsor of the Count Every Vote Act of 2005.

It's time we have:

* Verified paper ballots for every vote cast by electronic voting machines;
* Uniform provisional ballots so states will count and treat votes equally; and
* Standards to ensure equal access to voting machines and election personnel.

American democracy requires fair, accurate and credible elections! Sign up as a citizen co-sponsor of this bill here.

(x-posted in a couple of places. Feel free to cross post this yourself.)

05:42 am - A plug (sort of)
For Christmas, I was given a desktop calendar of "Bushisms" by a friend of mine. In a way, I don't want to look at them, because I'll get aggrivated, but it's kind of like a car crash- I can't look away.

I thought that maybe other people on livejournal might share my semi-masochistic tendencies, so I made the community daily_bushism for people to put on their friends list. As I tear off each page of the calendar, I'll add the Bushism to the community, so it'll work like one of those comic strip feeds.

So...friend it if you want to. Please don't make me witness the horror alone. LOL.
